Kitchen Islands are a functional and aesthetic staple in most dream kitchens, but what if your new apartment or home did not come with one built in?
Today we’ll show you an IKEA Hack to make yourself a beautiful DIY kitchen island that seats 4, has storage, costs under $500, and is made entirely from parts available at IKEA.
1x – Kallax 4×4 Shelving Unit
1x – Karlby Island Top 72″x 42″
2x – Gerton Legs
4x – Capita Legs
Step 1: Assemble the Kallax unit
Step 2: Attach 4 Capita legs to the top of the Kallax
Step 3: Attatch 2 Gerton Legs onto underside of island top
The IKEA hack is a greatly underutilized skill which, as you can see, can render some truly fantastic results! This DIY IKEA Kitchen Island is perfect for an apartment as it can act as both a kitchen island, and 4 seat dinner table (5 if you seat someone on the end).
